Gadget tracks movements of household items

TAMPA (FOX 13) - For a sense of security, how about a sensor tracking the movement of your most important belonging, or at least those you always seem to lose?

I-GO does just that. The tracker of things is the brainchild of Boca-based entrepreneur Indagem. The $20 sensor can be placed on whatever item you want to track -  keys, doors, windows, guns, even your dog.

The sensor comes with a gateway which works like a WiFi hotspot, allowing the sensor to send you alerts when an object is moved, and tell you when you’re getting closer or further from it.

Creator Jon Deng hopes to compete with other products that connect to smartphones and track your stuff by adding a home security element. You can get multiple sensors and they will all talk to your phone, letting you know if someone has moved a window or door.

 “I don’t want to have 10 different things,” Deng says. “I want one thing that does everything.”

His next goal is to work with airports to help track luggage, as more consumer look to use their smartphones to keep tabs on all the moving parts of their busy lives.
