Gator found hiding under car in restaurant parking lot

NORTH PORT, Fla. (FOX 13) - Next time you go out to enjoy a nice dinner with friends and family, make sure to check under your vehicle before you leave. 

There just might be an alligator waiting to nibble your toes. 

North Port police were called to help someone who was looking out for their own feet. They found an alligator under their vehicle in the parking lot of Buffalo Wings & Rings.

It's alligator mating season, so wayward reptiles are likely to show up in areas they normally wouldn't.

The restaurant is just across W Price Boulevard from a small body of water, which could be the gators usual hangout.

Nort Port PD said officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were on their way to help.
