Though Hurricane Matthew is primarily expected to be an east coast event, all of Central Florida will feel some effects from the storm.  Some Central Florida communities are opening shelters for evacuees.

Shelters open at 5 p.m. Thursday

Burnett Middle School, 1010 N. Kingsway Road in Seffner - Only Hillsborough shelter accepting dogs and cats. Owners must bring with them:
-proof of current license and vaccination
-an appropriate pet crate
-all food, bowls, medications, and other items needed by the pet

Pizzo Elementary School, 11701 Bull Run Road in Tampa
