Kitten tossed from car now eating, playing
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - April, a tiny white kitten that was seen being tossed from a vehicle when she was three weeks old, is doing much better at the SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey, where she's being nursed back to health.
When she was rescued, she had road rash and severe pneumonia, a respiratory infection and a corneal ulcer in her left eye. She was given antibiotics and vitamins and was handfed by rescuers.
The pneumonia has since resolved, and while her eye is still healing, rescuers believe she is gaining vision in it every day. She has also moved on to solid foods and is growing quickly, having nearly doubled her weight in a few weeks.
April was thrown from a car and a bystander rescued her and brought her to the SPCA in March. The driver was never found.
Now, April is becoming a healthy, spunky little kitten that specializes in playing and snuggling. Despite her rough start, April loves people and is sweet and loving!
It will still be a few weeks before she can be adopted.
