Largo teen dies after cliff jumping in Ocala
LARGO (FOX 13) - A Largo teen, known by friends to be a risk-taker, died Tuesday after cliff diving in Ocala Monday.
Trey Austin Dagwan Cardozo was 17-years-old. He died after he and his friends snuck onto private property to jump into a quarry pond.
It's become a dangerous trend - made popular by online videos.
"This type of thing seemed out of his comfort zone so I was a little bit surprised," said Destiny Winter, a longtime friend. "We're not invincible. You don't think it'll be you. He didn't think it'd be him."

Trey's leap would be his last; he died Tuesday morning in the hospital. His official cause of death is still pending.
"I was really shocked at first. I didn't know how to react. No one does," Winter said.
"He was so outgoing he wanted everyone to love him he loved everybody," said another friend, Mikhayla Morrison.
Trey is the second Tampa teen to die cliff diving in Ocala in two months.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Donnie Winston helped pull Trey's unresponsive body from the water.
"I did every effort I could to give him a fighting chance," Deputy Winston said. "As soon as you cross this line that says 'no trespassing,' you're committing a criminal offense. They've got these fences up, signs up for a reason."
Trey's friends hope his story serves as a lesson to others.
"Teens need to realize it's not worth it," Winter said.
Sheriff's deputies in Marion County will be patrolling the quarries in Ocala more heavily now. Officials say trespassers will be arrested.
