Man arrested for gunshots during road rage incident
PALMETTO (FOX 13) - Authorities have identified a suspect involved in a morning road rage shooting in Palmetto, Fla.
Palmetto police have arrested and charged 28-year-old Arlan David Osborne Jr. with aggravated assault with a firearm after police say he and another driver got into a road rage incident near U.S. 41 S around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.
The two vehicles were reportedly traveling towards the foot of the De Soto Bridge when Osborne was said to have fired at least one shot. A bullet struck the other vehicle, but missed the driver and the passenger.
The victims crossed the bridge into Bradenton, stopped at a gas station and called for help. Authorities then issued a “Be on the Lookout” (BOLO) alert for Osborne’s vehicle.
A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle, pulled it over and held Osborne until the victims could positively identify him.
Palmetto police took him into custody a short time later.
