NICU babies dress up for Halloween
KANSAS CITY (KTVU) - Families at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City are getting to celebrate Halloween with their little ones.
March of Dimes decided to design creative and adorable costumes for the babies in the NICU.
"Families in the NICU may spend weeks or months here, and it can be an emotional time. Providing an opportunity for them to celebrate Halloween... allows a sense of normalcy, and to celebrate their baby's first milestones, which is what every family wants to do," said Jennifer Hamblin Robinson with March of Dimes.
The March of Dimes also gave the babies a "Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet" keepsake card that had each babies' footprints pictured, and a hand crocheted pumpkin filled with treats.
A staff member form Saint Luke's crocheted all of the pumpkins.
Thirty five babies were included in the celebration.
