A man found dead alongside Interstate 75 was apparently the victim of a hit and run crash, investigators say, and now they need help tracking down the man's killer.

The body of a 38-year-old man was found along northbound I-75 Monday morning, just north of Sun City Center.  Troopers believe he was struck in the northbound outside lane at some point overnight, and the force of the impact threw him onto the highway's shoulder.

An unoccupied car was found on the other side of the highway, but it was not immediately clear if it was connected to the man, whose identity has not been publicly released.

Troopers now say they are searching for a black Ford F-150, F-250, or Expedition-type vehicle, possibly with a flat tire and damage to the right front of the vehicle.

"It is upsetting; it's very upsetting," said driver Celeste Buzbee.  "I would be very upset if it were a family member of mine. It's inhumane."

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.  Contact Crime Stoppers at 800-873-8477 (TIPS) or www.crimestopperstb.com.
