'Serial armed robber' indicted for string of recent robberies in Bay Area
TAMPA, Fla. - A Zephyrhills man with five prior robbery convictions is now charged in several more armed robberies across the Tampa Bay area, federal prosecutors said Friday.
According to the Justice Department, Peter Latimore, Jr., 43, robbed several businesses between Oct. 2 and Nov. 22, 2024, including grocery stores in Tampa, Brandon and Zephyrhills, along with a beauty supply shop in Plant City.
Prosecutors allege Latimore pulled up his shirt and showed a gun to employees during each robbery. A loaded gun was later found during a search of Latimore's home.

Latimore has been in custody since his arrest on Dec. 3. He faces charges of interference of commerce by robbery, attempted robbery, use of a firearm during and in commission of a felony offense, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He faces anywhere from 29 years to life in prison if convicted.
