Several severe reactions to Spice reported in St. Pete

More than 10 people had severe reactions Saturday to what police say could be use of synthetic marijuana.

St. Petersburg police said they received 12 calls for issues related to suspect use of Spice in the area of 4th Avenue North near Unity Park. The calls came between 1 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.. 

Police said reactions included seizures, loss of consciousness and vomiting. 

Four people were arrested for possession of Spice. 

The incidents come a day after Clearwater police released video and pictures of suspected users of synthetic marijuana. CPD said the widespread use was becoming a real concern for officers.
