Survey: 14 million people plan to call in sick a day after the Super Bowl
One of the biggest sporting events has come and gone, giving way to one of the year’s biggest sick days.
The day after the Super Bowl is dubbed as “Super Sick Monday” thanks to the amount of people who call out of work.
A new Kronos and Mucinex survey says an estimated 13.9 million people are expected to stay home this year, as folks recover from their late-night, game-day celebrations.
A fever is the most commonly used excuse, with 26 percent of people saying it’s their go-to ailment, and 14 percent will claim a sore throat is keeping them home, while 12 percent will blame their absence on a headache.
