Teen reports man for allegedly sending explicit pics
SPRING HILL (FOX 13) - Over the last couple of weeks, deputies in Hernando County say 20-year-old Jordan Waters was connecting with underage girls on social media, looking for sex.
On Monday, a 14-year-old female student at the Explorer K-8 school told her parents Waters was sending her explicit photos of himself and asking for hers in return.
”I have got to say, this young lady had a lot of courage to let her parents know and, in turn, let us know,” said Sheriff Al Nienhuis.
At one point, Waters is alleged to have told the girl he stands outside her school and watches the children because he lives close by.
Waters was arrested Wednesday when under-cover deputies posing as a teen girl offered to meet him for sex at Delta Woods Park.
“I’m sure he was very surprised,” the sheriff said. “At the park we took him into custody on several charges.”
Waters knows the law, having been arrested before on a similar crime. Parents say these are the dangers when teens and social media mix.
“You have to stay on top of it. The second you don't something bad could happen,” said James Gabbard.
Waters faces five charges including child exploitation. Deputies say, when confronted, he confessed.
