Wrong-way driver who killed deputy was drunk, tests show

The wrong-way driver who killed a Hillsborough County deputy was drunk, investigators now say.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office just received the toxicology report from the medical examiner's office for Erik McBeth.

According to the report, McBeth's blood alcohol level was 0.27 at the time of the crash that killed deputy John Kotfila, Jr.

Both vehicles collided on the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, killing the deputy and McBeth.
