FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber is keeping an eye on the Gulf where Tropical Storm Isaias formed on Wednesday morning and is expected to become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. Weber said the storm is moving east-northeast at eight miles an hour. He expects Isaias to make landfall on the northern Gulf Coast Friday night. He said Isaias is expected to strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane that will weaken due to wind shear before it makes landfall. Weber warned that Isaias will likely bring a lot of tornadoes with it. A Hurricane Watch, Storm Surge Watch and Tropical Storm Watch were issued along the Gulf Coast on Wednesday morning.
