Knights' shining armor, weapons showcases in Sarasota museum

SARASOTA, Fla. (FOX 13) - The Ringling is a wonderful museum with a new exhibit that is simply called, “Knights.”

This is the real thing that has inspired so many stories and legends. “Knights” showcases stunning examples of European arms and armor from the renowned collection of the Museo Stibbert in Florence, Italy.

Through more than 100 rare objects -- including full suits of armor, mounted equestrian figures, helmets, swords and other weaponry -- this exhibition tells the tale of the European knight from the medieval and Renaissance periods through to the Medieval Revival of the 19th century. The exhibit will be on display now through April 21.
