Coppertail Brewing Co. raising rebuilding funds for Lee Elementary
TAMPA (FOX 13) - An upcoming fundraiser’s purpose is to raise money for a school destroyed by fire.
The item you need to buy? Beer.
On September 12, when the power returned in Tampa from Hurricane Irma, a three-alarm fire scorched the historic Lee Elementary School. Flames shot through the roof for hours as firefighters tried to put them out. The school, located at 305 East Columbus Drive, was built in 1906. The total damage estimate is close to $5 million between the value of the building and the contents inside the school.
Coppertail Brewing Company is holding a fundraiser on Wednesday to help raising money toward Lee Elementary School’s rebuilding efforts. For every beer that is sold from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., $1 will be donated.
According to its Facebook event, local businesses are donating items to be raffled off. You can purchase raffle tickets during those times and participating in the silent auction. A representative for the school will be accepting additional monetary donations.
