FHP: SUV and motorcycle collide in fatal Bradenton crash

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a motorcycle crashed into the side of an SUV on Thursday night in Bradenton.

Troopers say that a 47-year-old Arcadia woman was driving south on 26th Street West, approaching 52nd Avenue Drive West around 7:15 p.m. She attempted to turn left in front of a motorcycle that was headed north on 26th Street West.

The 32-year-old Sarasota woman who was riding the motorcycle crashed into the front door on the right side of the SUV, according to investigators.

According to FHP, the motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital but passed away from her injuries. Troopers say she was wearing a helmet.

The SUV driver and her 23-year-old Bradenton passenger suffered minor injuries.

Officials are still investigating the identity of the motorcyclist.
