Four Bay Area scouts earn honor of Eagle Scout
LAND O' LAKES (FOX 13) - Earning the Boy Scouts' highest rank was a proud moment shared by for four members of Troop 33 in Land O'Lakes.
Scout Master Robert Hall said only four percent of Boy Scouts make it to be an Eagle Scout.
"It kind of gives them a step up. If they go into the military it shows that they can multitask, going into the business world, they show a lot of leadership qualities," Hall said.
"[It'something that looks very good on a college application or a job application," said Eagle Scout Thomas Ploor.
"I'm generally more quiet and in the back sort of person and eagle scouting has really helped me practice be up in the front and learn to lead others," said Eagle Scout Jordan Gansemer.
To get there, each came up with a project to help their community.
"I established a recycling program at my church because they didn't have anything," said Eagle Scout Sean Smith.
These friends have been a support system for each other through the Boy Scouts.
"It's really cool that we're all moving up together I wouldn't have it any other way," said Smith.
