Group effort frees pelican trapped in fishing gear on Clearwater Beach

CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. (STORYFUL) - Beachgoers, lifeguards and a Clearwater Police officer came together to free a pelican trapped by fishing gear on April 11.

Karen Gombosi filmed this video and posted it to Facebook saying, “thank you to Clearwater Beach police and lifeguards for your assistance helping a distressed pelican stuck with a hook and wrapped in fishing line. A job well done!”

On Facebook, the Clearwater Police Department wrote an officer and a lifeguard were part of the team effort.

"Excellent work by all!" the post read.
