CLEARWATER (FOX 13) - The man accused of throwing his daughter to her death from a Bay Area bridge will not face the death penalty when his case goes to trial, prosecutors announced Monday.
Pinellas state attorney Bernie McCabe announced today that his office would not seek the death penalty against John Jonchuck.
Jonchuck is accused of throwing his 4-year-old daughter Phoebe over the Dick Misener Bridge – near the Sunshine Skyway – back in 2015.
After multiple mental evaluations, Jonchuck’s trial is set for this fall.
If convicted of first-degree murder, he faces life in prison.
