Two Tampa businesses robbed overnight

A manhunt for two armed robbers is underway. Police say the men held up two businesses about an hour apart late Sunday night.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their arrests.

"We're hoping that they're talking in the neighborhood, and hoping that they come forward and tell us what they're hearing," said police spokesman Andrea Davis.

Investigators say they hit the Family Dollar Store at 10220 30th Street N a little before closing around 10 p.m. There were two employees and one customer checking out when two masked men entered, demanded money, and took off.

A little more than an hour later, just a few miles away, Papa John's Pizza at 9340 North Florida Avenue was held up. One masked man wielding a gun and wearing the same clothes as  a suspect in the first hold-up entered the business. He fired off one round into the ceiling, demanded money, and left.

No one was hurt in either incident.

Tampa police are asking anyone with information about the robberies to call them or Crimestoppers.
