UPS driver accused of stealing package he delivered
ST. PETE BEACH (FOX 13) - A UPS driver is accused of delivering a box containing an iPhone X to a house in St. Pete Beach only to return and seal the package two hours later, court documents say.
According to an arrest affidavit from Pinealls County, UPS driver Jason C. Mohn delivered the package at 5:37 p.m. on Tuesday.
Security cameras at the home recorded a man in a UPS uniform placing a package and a box at the doorstep, ringing the doorbell, and then walking away.
Those same security cameras caught a man walking up to the house at 7:45 p.m., taking a box from the doorstep, putting it under his hooded sweatshirt, and then running away.
Investigators believe Mohn is the man in both videos.
The affidavit says a UPS investigator found the iPhone X "inside the defendant's work area, next to his belongings," the next day.
Mohn is charged with theft of an item between $300 and $5,000. He was being held on a $2,000 bond.
