Would-be armed robber at Tampa flea market fled empty-headed, police say

Tampa police are searching for an armed robber, who ran away empty-handed, they said.

The agency shared surveillance video from the Magic Mall Flea Market, located at 8330 North Florida Avenue. The suspect tis seen approaching a jewelry booth just after 1:10 p.m. Sunday. 

He is seen speaking to a clerk at the jewelry booth before pulling out possibly a small silver pistol, pointing it at her, and demanding a bracelet. A customer standing next him is seen backing away.

Police said the clerk slammed the case door closed, and that’s when the suspect ran out of the market. There were no injuries.
