A historic run for the University of South Florida this season appears to have cost the Bulls their coach.

University of South Florida's Willie Taggart will be leaving the Bulls to become the head coach for the Oregon Ducks, ESPN reported Wednesday morning.

Oregon fired former coach Mark Helfrich just one week ago, leaving the job open.

In a meeting Wednesday afternoon with the Bulls players, an emotional Taggart gave his team the news. Taggart said this was the toughest time for him since losing his third child.

While the Bulls players met with Taggart and other coaching staff, Oregon announced the new hire via Twitter

Taggart coached at USF for four seasons. Each season with Taggart leading the team, the Bulls saw more and more wins. This year's 10-2 record was the best in USF's history.
