Manatee county officials announced Tuesday that more than 200 people were saved in water rescues from Tropical Storm Debby.

The National Hurricane Center says a tropical wave in the Caribbean has a low chance of development over the next few days.

While Debby has left our area, higher than normal tides are expected Tuesday and Wednesday and may cause minor street flooding in low-lying areas.

It's a waiting game in eastern Hillsborough County as flooded-out residents wait for the water to subside after Debby passed through the Bay Area.

While the Bay Area and South Florida may have dodged a direct hit from Hurricane Debby, the storm’s heavy rain and strong winds left a path of destruction and pushed everything from catfish to cocaine on the state’s shoreline. 

Governor Ron DeSantis is getting a look at the damage left behind in Steinhatchee after Hurricane Debby made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane on Monday morning. 

Another hurricane season has resulted in a cyclone coming to near a screeching halt, but to weather forecasters, the lack of movement is not surprising considering the storm system’s location.

Sarasota saw record rainfall on Sunday as Hurricane Debby roared past the Gulf Coast, leaving flooding and storm surge in its wake.

Hurricane Debby left more than 120,000 Pinellas County homes without power. As of Monday night, Duke Energy reported less than 4,000 remaining outages.

After Tropical Storm Debby, flooding has led to street closures all over Manatee County. One neighborhood in Lakewood Ranch, “Star Farms," had a few feet of unexpected flooding, with water flowing up driveways and in some instances, into homes. 

Homeless shelters are cleaning up after feeling the effects of Tropical Storm Debby. The Catholic Charities Pinellas Hope Homeless Shelter in Clearwater saw extensive damage to their tents, platforms, sidewalks and roads.

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge reopened to traffic Monday night after shutting down for nearly 24 hours because of high winds and heavy rain caused by Debby.

It’s a scene that’s all too familiar for Shore Acres residents: flooded streets, tow trucks saving trapped cars and sometimes getting stuck themselves. Now, Debby is forcing them to deal with it all again.

Homeowners are busy cleaning up their yards and neighborhoods after trees and power lines fell from Hurricane Debby's strong winds and heavy rainfall.

As Debby brought heavy rain and flooding to Manatee County, water was strategically released from Lake Manatee on Monday in order “to manage water levels and ensure public safety,” according to officials.
