2 kids reported missing after visiting All Children's Hospital found after 4-month search: Caretakers arrested
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Two children who were reported missing after police say one was taken from All Children’s Hospital against a doctor’s advice have been safely located after a four-month search and their caretakers have been arrested.
What we know:
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Twanda Neal took a 12-year-old boy to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital for an illness in October, but refused to continue medical care against the doctors' advice.
Police say she took him from the hospital without a doctor's permission.
The 12-year-old, along with a 14-year-old that was also in Neal's care, were reported missing on Oct. 9, 2024, after they were last seen at the hospital located on the 500 block of 6th Avenue South in St. Petersburg.

They were believed to have been in the company of their caretakers, Neal and Anthony Dee Davis.

On Saturday, Polk County deputies located the boys and their caretakers during a traffic stop.
Neal was arrested and charged with child neglect with great bodily harm, resisting an officer without violence, and misuse of 911 or an E911 System cost over $100. She will eventually be brought to Pinellas County to face the child neglect charge.
Davis was charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence. All of his charges are related to the weekend traffic stop.
The children were safe and were placed in state custody.
What we don't know:
It is unclear why Neal took the 12-year-old boy to the hospital or why the doctor recommended that the child not leave the facility.
