Abandoned 3-month-old pup preparing for 'forever home'

TAMPA (FOX 13) - An elderly couple came across a tiny, abandoned dog, and made sure to get her to a safe place.
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay shared a loving photo of the couple holding the 3-month-old puppy and kissing it goodbye as they dropped it off at the shelter. They said they were unable to take care of it themselves.
They said they found the pup shivering at a dog park and quickly took it home. On Sunday morning, they dropped it off at the Humane Society and offered a donation.
The pup’s name is Godiva, and she is not yet ready for her forever home. She will have her surgery Thursday, so she will be spayed and have a microchip placed in.
The Humane Society said she will be up for adoption Friday and the public can keep an eye on the adoption section of their website Thursday evening.
Adoptions are a first-come, first-serve process at the shelter. They open at noon, but people who are interested in a specific dog tend to come earlier to secure their place in line.
