TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Deputies in Hillsborough County say a man died after being shot in a car along Nebraska Avenue, but they're still trying to find the gunman.
According to deputies, it was just after noon when witnesses approached an FHP trooper about a man who had been shot in a parking lot near Nebraska and Fletcher Avenue. Deputies and paramedics responded and found the victim in a silver Infiniti, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He later died at a nearby hospital. His name has not been released.
Deputies say the suspect is a black male last seen running east, wearing a black baseball hat, gray T-shirt, and black pants. They did not have any other description to offer, but they are hoping that nearby businesses may have caught surveillance video of the suspect fleeing the scene.
The shooting happened inside the car a few blocks south, leading detectives to believe the two people knew each other.
"There's some type of association," offered HCSO Maj. Frank Losat.
