Moms, children enjoy bonding time thanks to local parenting organization

Little ones and their mothers got the chance to bond during a play date at a Tampa park, and it's all thanks to a local organization that focuses on bringing moms together.

"Being a mom, it's really important to be a part of groups and organizations so that you have somewhere to go to if you need help with anything or you have questions about something," said Johanna, a mother of three. "It's also good for kids to interact with each other."

She attended a free event put on by The Mommy Spot, a website and event company for moms, created by another busy mom, Christina Campbell.

"I started The Mommy Spot when my little ones were 2 and 3 years old and there was just something that I needed, I needed to find more resources for moms," Campbell told FOX 13.

They help each other out with the issues a lot of mothers face.

"We have that joint connection together where we can sit down and say, 'Oh my gosh, this is what's going on,' whether my child is not sleeping through the night [or] they're not eating well," she said.

The group gets ideas from mom bloggers.

"Whether it's guides to different nursing lounges in Tampa Bay, or water parks they want to take their kids to, or maybe some mom fashion because we want to feel great," Campbell said.

They even provide moms a break every once in a while.

"It's nice to have those interactions with the kids, but also have mommy events where babies are home with daddy and mommy can interact with other mommies," Johanna said.

It's a one-stop-shop for the hardest and most rewarding job of all.

"It's a journey. It's hard and we have to do it together and it takes a village," said Campbell.
