Two-vehicle crash leaves 55-year-old pedestrian dead

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in St. Petersburg.

The crash involved two vehicles in the 2900 block of 34th Street North after 7 p.m. Monday. Hank Henry William Taylor, 55, walked midblock into the path of a 2002 Ford Explorer, according to St. Petersburg police.

Police said the Explorer was traveling in the southbound lanes of 34th Street North when it hit Taylor. A second vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Altima also hit him. Both drivers stopped at the scene.

No charges are expected as of Tuesday morning, police said, and the investigation into the crash is still underway.
