A Florida panther has recovered after it was struck by a vehicle in early December

With the help of two children, Pasco firefighters and a local wildlife sanctuary, a bald eagle is expected to fully recover after it was found with a fishing hook through its beak.

Paul Corsi and his family spend a lot of time on and around the water near the Skyway looking for injured pelicans and other birds. He says what he saw a few weeks ago was the worst: eight cormorant carcasses.

The remains of the 2-year-old female panther were found after it was struck and killed by a vehicle. FWC says it's the second panther death reported this year.

How far would you go to help an injured bird? When volunteers from Friends of the Pelicans spotted a young pelican entangled in fishing line on a span of the old Skyway Sunshine Bridge, they knew he would die if they didn't do something. 

It’s the first panther death reported in the new year.

The fish is reportedly 10 pounds heavier than the previous record.

For the fourth time this season, biologists with the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute spotted a mother right whale and calf pair swimming along the Atlantic Coast.
