Pasco County: Hurricane Ian updates and emergency information

Follow ongoing updates from Pasco County as Hurricane Ian forms over the Caribbean and possibly approaches Florida.

PASCO COUNTY SANDBAGS:

Pasco County has opened sandbag sites to help residents and business owners protect their property during a storm. Sandbag sites are self-serve and open 24/7 to Pasco County residents. Anyone wishing to fill a sandbag must bring their own shovel.

Pasco County has opened sandbag locations at: 

  • W.H. Jack Mitchell, Jr., Park on Little Road in New Port Richey
  • Veterans Memorial Park on Hicks Road in Hudson
  • Magnolia Valley Golf Course on Massachusetts Avenue in New Port Richey
  • Pasco County Public Works (C-Barn) on Warder Road in San Antonio
  • Land O' Lakes Recreation Center on Collier Parkway
  • Wesley Chapel District Park on Boyette Road 

Sandbag sites in the county are self-serve and open 24/7 to Pasco County residents, officials said. Sandbags are provided, but residents must bring their own shovel to fill the bags. Crews will be restocking sand daily. 

PASCO COUNTY EVACUATIONS:

No evacuations ordered.

PASCO COUNTY CLOSINGS:

Schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.  All after-school programs, all athletic events and practices, and all extracurricular events have been canceled.

PASCO COUNTY SHELTERS:

No shelters have been opened.

PASCO COUNTY SCHOOLS:

Pasco County Schools and offices will be open on Monday. Schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.  All after-school programs, all athletic events and practices, and all extracurricular events have been canceled.
