A Florida man found himself in a wild chase, but instead of a patrol car, his pursuer was a relentless police horse! The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office shared this body camera footage of the incident.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Florida man found himself in a wild chase, but instead of a patrol car, his pursuer was a relentless police horse!
The backstory:
Jordan Wilson, 25, was caught handing off illegal drugs on Tuesday morning in Jacksonville, according to police.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said he then tried to run, but he didn’t anticipate the sheriff’s mounted unit closing in fast on his heels.

Wilson can be seen running into oncoming traffic, in an attempt to escape. JSO Officer Cassie Haire, with her police horse, Nash, quickly sprang into action.
"Get that bad man, Nash!" Haire could be heard instructing Nash as they chased Wilson for a quarter mile. "Hey! Get on the ground. You're going to get run over." she continued.

Police said Wilson ultimately gave in and was arrested.

Wilson was arrested on a charge of resisting an officer without violence, according to Duval County jail records, and has since been released.

"While Nash is the star of the video, we want to give a big shoutout to fellow crime-fighting steeds Jaxx, Judge, and Duke, for making sure justice was the mane priority," JSO said in a statement on social media. "Our Mounted Unit doesn’t just horse around when it comes to crime!"
