Dozens of parking meters vandalized in St. Pete

Police say the meters were jammed with spray foam sealant. Several of the machines were damaged beyond repair and many required “extensive maintenance” to clean and repair, costing the city as much as $10,000 to $12,000, including parts and labor costs. 

Pelican Pub reopens after treating for bed bugs

A downtown St. Pete bar that was at the center of a health scare is back open. The Pelican Pub closed its doors for two days after multiple patrons complained about contracting a skin rash from allegedly sitting on the same bench.

Pinellas County bans horseback riding near Skyway bridge

A popular activity in Pinellas County is being shut down. The Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday night to ban horseback riding near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Officials say the hobby is damaging seagrass and causing water quality issues.
