Travel impacted by Debby as deadly storm forces thousands of flight cancellations, delays

Deadly Tropical Storm Debby continues to lash Florida and the Southeast with damaging wind gusts and flooding rain after making landfall as a Category 1 hurricane early Monday morning, and that’s having a major impact on travel for thousands of people hoping to catch a flight to or from places like Tampa and Orlando in Florida, and Charlotte in North Carolina.

Hurricane Debby causing flooding issues in parts of Pinellas County

Downtown Gulfport saw a couple feet of water covering the roads in and around businesses as Hurricane Debby brought heavy rain to the area. At one point Sunday night, some roads in and around downtown were flooded out, making it impassible for cars.

The Bay Area began feeling the effects of Debby, which has now strengthened into a hurricane, on Sunday and by noon, some areas were already beginning to flood.
